The Concept
"Maria Kabaça is a celebration of the Minho woman, also a weaver, embroiderer, and creator of clothes and children between threads and stitches (embroidering fabrics with flowers and other decorative charms, so close to those she could not afford). Embroidery was still a craft, and with the pay received for such perfected crafts, the girls would prize gold ornaments and further amplify the dazzle(...)"

The Idea
Maria Kabaça began in 2010, led by Sónia Rodrigues, a social educator from Fontão, Ponte de Lima. The idea consists of handicrafts inspired by Minho customs, specifically their costumes and embroidery.
Maria and Manel are a recurring presence on their gourds, a couple as typical as the outfits they always wear. Sónia began painting them during a training course, and from then on, the idea was a success. More than ten years later, the brand is already a success, not only nationally but internationally.
The collection
To honor this successful idea, LethesHome launched a collection whose name is quite self-explanatory: Maria Kabaça
From bedding sets, towels and washcloths to the usual rugs and cushions (among others), this collection celebrates the people of Minho and their traditions, just as its creator envisioned.
